The Philips Lumea Prestige IPL Hair Removal Device for Body, Face, Bikini & Underarms - BRI95600 is a handheld hair removal laser device that is suitable for use by both genders. Users are advised to be cautious when using it in sensitive areas without official manufacturer support. Before doing sensitive areas, users must do a single patch test and ensure skin and hair are prepared well and thoroughly shaved. Drawings with a white eyeliner pencil can be made for guidelines. The device has been reported to work for a male user with coarse body hair, and it has an integrated sensor that detects skin tone and alert the user if the wrong setting for their skin is selected, among other features. One user with PCOS was not impressed with the device, stating it had made no changes to her face, while another wished they had gotten it sooner. The device must be plugged in and requires pressing down flat for the light to come on, and it may take practice to use on curved areas.
