The Akai Professional MPK Mini Play is a standalone MIDI keyboard controller that comes with a built-in sound source, speaker, and battery. The included software, MPC Beats, is easy to use and allows for up to 6 tracks. Users have found the keyboard to be small and light, making it easy to carry around, but the plastic texture feels cheap and toy-like. The key touch is stiff and not ideal for quick play. However, it is compatible with velocity and has a convenient speaker for making sounds without connecting to MIDI. The lack of Japanese information and difficulty uninstalling the software has been a downside for some users.
