The device works by heating up Vicks pads to disperse menthol into the air. Users can immediately smell the menthol throughout the room and the soft green glow night light is handy but not too bright. Although the device heats up, it has not caused any burns. The price is worth the purchase, and it is better than slathering menthol rub all over one's chest.
