Also, this system uses a mixed bed demineralizer, meaning the mfg does not use salt to regenerate the resin beads. To recharge or refill the system, users will have to dispose of the old media, purchase a new bag or box of mixed pellets and fill the new media. There is a valve on the unit but not a bypass valve. Lastly, users should drain water from the unit if they will be exposing it to freezing temperatures.
