Lumberjack Tools 1-12 Home Beginner's Kit HSBK1 The Lumberjack Tools 1-12 Home Beginner's Kit HSBK1 is a great starter kit for anyone looking to create their own furniture from logs or stock up to 3" in diameter. The kit includes a tenon cutter that can cut a 1 1/2" tenon on any material up to 3" in diameter and a forstner bit that can cut a 1 1/2 " mortise. The blades on the tenon cutter are removable and easily sharpened by hand or with a sanding drum on a drill press. The TRH1500 can handle logs up to a 3" diameter. To cut on a log larger than that, you will need to upgrade to the Pro Series TTR25000. That cutter works on logs 3 - 4 inches in diameter, and cuts a 2.5" diameter tenon. The size you use depends on what size log you want to use. This one here cuts a 1.5 inch tenon, so the log should be about 3 inches in diameter to start and that would be a good size in my opinion to make a bed with. You also need a slow speed drill (1/2 inch chuck size) to use it and BE CAREFUL. This thing will hurt you if you use a high speed drill and it catches on the log! Remember, be careful and use the correct drill and it will be much safer. The forstner bit can be bought separately as a 1 1/2" Forsner Bit. If it comes with the wrong size bit, you can either purchase the 1 1/2" Forsner Bit or shim the 2" hole, install the tenon, and glue. Overall, the Lumberjack Tools 1-12 Home Beginner's Kit HSBK1 is a good product for the money. It is important to measure the size before ordering since it can only cut logs up to 3" in diameter.
