Answer: Yes, these spacers are necessary for proper installation of the Race Face Narrow/Wide Chainring if you are currently running a double or triple chainring setup, as the chainring bolts will be too long to install the narrow/wide on your crank. -

Will this work with a SRAM Red crank and a 38t ring?
Answer: It probably would work. It may not be an exact fit, but it works fine. -
Question:
Will this fit on Shimano XT M8000?
Answer: They fit on Shimano XT FC-M780 (3x); not sure about M8000. -
Question:
Can you use these on the inner side of the crankarm as an alignment spacer?
Answer: It is not recommended to use these spacers to push the chainring off the spider. The proper way to adjust chainline is to adjust bottom bracket spacers between the drive and non-drive side. -
Question:
Are these shims 5mm?
Answer: I don’t know if these are 5mm shims. Once I purchased a new crankset, these came off because they weren’t compatible with my new hardware.
