Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question: Does it come with a set of two?

Answer: The tires come only one to a purchase.
  • Question: Are they tubeless?

Answer: The version we are selling are not the Tubeless versions. These are only the dual compound. It is not the TR versions. If there is anything else we can help you with let us know.
  • Question: Is this tire tubeless ready?

    Answer: Y
  • Question: Will these tires fit a 27.5 x 2.25 wheel?

Answer: Only if they come in a 27.5 size. The 26 inch will not fit a 27.5. Great tires though.
  • Question: Is this tire ok to use in my rear wheel?

Answer: Yup, it's my favorite rear tire.
  • Question: How would they work on a Day 6 or what would you suggest for a puncture resistant tire?

Answer: I can't speak to the specific Ride 6 bike, but this is a very puncture-resistant tire. Strong tread and sidewall. Check the size you are buying. I have a wide rim, so the 2.8 is fine, but if you have a narrow rim, the 2.8 would be disaster.
  • Question: Is this for rear use only? Looking to replace some Schwalbe Fat Albert tires on my Yeti...

Answer: I'm running these tires front and rear, although I would go with a less aggressive front tire due to the higher rolling resistance you get from these tires.

Maxxis Tires Editorial Review

The MAXXIS High Roller 2 tires have garnered enthusiastic praise from customers who appreciate their performance across a variety of terrains, particularly in soft or loose conditions. Users have reported notable improvements in grip on dirt, gravel, and even on both wet and dry pavement. Many have highlighted the lower rolling resistance when riding on pavement, making these tires a solid choice for mountain bikers who venture onto roads. The tubeless setup has received positive remarks, with customers noting better air retention compared to traditional tube setups. To achieve optimal performance, a few users suggested allowing the tires to rest before installation to help the bead form to the rim, which can ease the mounting process. Once properly set up, riders experienced enhanced handling, especially on technical single tracks, where the side knobs contributed to superior grip during high-speed turns. However, not all experiences were flawless. There were isolated reports of casing damage on challenging trails, although many customers appreciated the supportive customer service from the manufacturer, who promptly addressed these issues by providing replacements. Overall, the MAXXIS High Roller 2 has made a significant impression on users, many of whom attribute great improvements to their biking experience after making the switch from their stock tires. The combination of excellent traction, durability, and versatility in various riding conditions has led to high recommendations for both casual and serious riders willing to invest in quality mountain bike tires. **
